Since 2013, we've been proud to sell Fairtrade coffee that is 100% traceable and sustainable - but what does this sticker, that so many of us see on our groceries every day, really mean?

Checks & Balances

Corruption and poverty are often major issues in coffee-growing areas, but Fairtrade acts as a check against the worst, making sure every part of the coffee chain is carefully regulated.

Educate & Support

Faritrade helps train farmers to adapt better to changing farming techniques & climate conditions, and is often a crucial ingredient in ensuring producers are not only treated fairly, but given the tools to grow and develop.

Transparency

With the help of Fairtrade's FLO IDs, we can track every single bag of green coffee back to its source, and find out exactly where the premium we pay has gone, and what it’s being used for.

Building for future generations

One of the big problems with the coffee industry is the lack of young people getting involved - but with Faritrade projects creating a more modern, higher-yielding form of coffee farming, there is hope for people like Eldemo (pictured) to hand their farms onto the new generatiion

Sustained Development

In Honudras, CAFICO are working with Fairtrade to ensure a sustainable future for their Cooperative. Unlike other one-off programmes or investments, Fairtrade allows them to plan & build for the future.

Protection from volatile markets

Fairtrade maintains a minimum price per pound of coffee. Due to the volatility of the coffee market, the Fairtrade minimum has been enforced in 15 of the last 25 years, ensuring farmers can earn enough to cover at least the basic costs of sustainable production.

Creating Meaningful Connections

Fairtrade connects us with growers from across the world; and allows us to contribute directly to investment projects for farmers and their local communities
